A Magpie’s Tale – Hardcover

A Magpie’s Tale narrates the experiences of Maggie the
magpie and her partner, Alfred. They have an adolescent
offspring Alfredo, who seems to get into trouble more
often than not. They all live together on the outskirts of a
little forest area at the Gold Coast in Queensland
Australia.
The story begins with Maggie looking for food to provide
for her family where Maggie forms a connection with a
neighbour living in an apartment nearby. David becomes
the human connection who supports Maggie in some of
her life’s challenges.
Maggie’s youngest one, Alfredo, proves to be more than
just an adventurer when trouble appears. He surprises
everyone in the forest with his daring antics when they all
thought that he was way too young for any such ‘heroics’.
Just as the author had many an adventure as a young lad
exploring nature in far north Queensland, so too, this
magpie family experiences their own adventures in their
interaction with their rainforest community, and the
intrusion of suburbia into their own backyard.
