There are some books that have a certain appeal to readers who are searching for the prophetic voice of God speaking clearly to His Church in these troubling times that we now live in. The book “Love is at the Door” by Kevin Holland, a retired Salvation Army officer, is that kind of book. It isn’t man’s speculation of what needs to happen in the church – it is Jesus speaking through dreams and visions in such a way that is shaking the Church awake!
This book is finding readers around the world responding with 5 star approval, however, this book is not for everyone. Kevin has received feedback from some who cannot understand what the book is saying (and subsequently given the book just a one star rating). Upon inquiry, the reader confessed that he couldn’t comprehend “Pilgrim’s Progress” either. Both books left him bewildered.
Metaphors and similes may be clearly understood by some (as with parables) but seen as a foreign language to others. It is this elucidation that the reader ought to bear in mind before purchasing this book, nevertheless, it has risen to number four best seller in its category of religious books sold worldwide by the book printers. Well done Kevin!
Perhaps it should also be noted that Allan Kerr’s book “Miracles Do Happen” is not far behind, trailing at number eight in his category of religious books. As word-of-mouth continues to give Allan’s book rave reviews, it can only improve in demand from perspective readers. As an aside, one lady that I know, purchased a book, read it, gave it to her husband to read, he read it, and she subsequently returned a week later to purchase seven more copies as gifts for family and friends. “EVERYBODY needs to read this book” was her emphatic comment.
In the ‘wings’ of being released in the next few weeks is another book simply titled “Blessings Journal” by Patricia Watson. It would make an excellent companion book to Allan’s book in that it awakens the heart and mind to expect God to be moving in supernatural ways. If we do not believe in a God who continues to work miraculously, then our unbelief becomes a hinderance to seeing any miracles happening – as with the people of Nazareth. Matt.13:58.
The intent of the Blessings Journal is to provide a place to record the many blessings that come our way – but are so easily forgotten. This journal then becomes a treasure to look back on in times when we may grow despondent or weary in “seeing” the goodness of God that has been upon our lives in times past.
The book has been beautifully illustrated from a ladies’ perspective that is a delightful enhancement to the ruled lines that are awaiting the ready pen of a joyous ‘blessed one’ of God to begin writing.
